A few years ago, I was in Monument Valley and saw a group of monks experiencing this sacred American place. The image has stayed with me for years. Raven regards Monk; Monk regards you through the lens of a camera, and you all exist in a place which remains unflappably detached from human histrionics. The benign detachment of the landscape of the American Southwest is food for my artist's soul.
